Wisconsin will play a football game outside of the United States for the second time in program history when the Badgers open the 2027 season against Pitt in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic on August 28, 2027, at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.
This will be Wisconsin's second international game as in 1993, Wisconsin defeated Michigan State, 41-20 at the Coca-Cola Bowl in Tokyo, Japan. The 2027 game will mark the eighth college football game ever played at Dublin’s 48,000-seat Aviva Stadium. Pitt will serve as the home team.
The schools have only met three times previously, with their most recent meeting taking place in 1967. Pitt has won all previous matchups.

Who's facing off on the Dublin gridiron in 2027?

Aviva Stadium, which opened in 2010, was built on the site where historic Lansdowne Stadium once stood. Home is now home to the Irish National Team and the Lansdowne Rugby Club.
Aviva has also become Ireland's home for College Football with the Aer Lingus College Football Classic. From Notre Dame's first appearance in 2012, to 2025's Big 12 showdown between K-State and Iowa State, Aviva has hosted the kick off of the college football season every year since 2022.
The 2027 matchup will be the eighth game played inside of Aviva Stadium.
